JAS THE DOULA

FROM THE START HOLISTIC DOULA SERVICES

     About Me

My name is Jasmine, though many know me as Jas the Doula. I’m a mother of two and a passionate advocate for women’s health, birth autonomy, and equitable care.

For nearly seven years, I’ve supported pregnant and postpartum individuals through case management within a prominent health plan in the Tidewater region—providing education, coordinating resources, and guiding families through every stage of their journey. That experience shaped my approach as a doula: informed, compassionate, and deeply rooted in advocacy.

Beyond my direct client work, I stay actively involved in the community, raising awareness about the value of doulas and pushing for higher standards of care, especially for under-served and marginalized families.

I am a state-certified doula accepting Medicaid and TRICARE, and I offer flexible payment options to ensure my services remain accessible. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Management from Norfolk State University and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Delivery Science from Eastern Virginia Medical School. I am committed to continued growth and regularly invest in advanced training to better serve my clients.

As part of that commitment, I completed the 2024 cohort of the Body Ready Method® Professional Training and am a certified Body Ready Method Pro. This work allows me to support your body—not just your birth—by focusing on alignment, mobility, and pelvic floor function to reduce common pregnancy discomforts, encourage efficient labor progression, and support smoother recovery.

My Approach to Care

I provide support across the full spectrum: prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and pregnancy loss.

As your doula, my role is to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in your decisions. Together, we’ll work through any fears, anxieties, or previous birth experiences while creating a plan that aligns with your vision and values.

Why I Do This Work

I believe every family deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey into parenthood. My goal is to provide care that not only prepares you for birth—but sets you up to thrive beyond it.

“Greetings! I am so excited that you have opted for additional prenatal and postpartum support. In addition to improved outcomes, continuous 1:1 support with birth workers can significantly reduce the likelihood of complications while simultaneously increasing the likelihood of a healthy mother and baby. “

Jas the Doula

Our Testimoninials

Zya Leonard Birth and Postpartum Client

Jas was nothing short of amazinggg! From our first meeting I knew I made the right decision by going with her. Jas is very informative, considerate, and patient. Heavy on the patient because my other children are pretty wild sometimes! The exercises and diet suggestions along with Jas’ reassurance made my labor process very smooth and QUICK (was only in active labor for 2 hours and 12 minutes). I went through a lot mentally postpartum but Jas continued to check in on me. I don’t plan to have more babies, but if I do… Jas will be my doula every time! <3

Jas provided emotional support Came across her FB in my people you may know and it brought back so many memories of a woman who genuinely cared. There are so many things I can say about this woman and the sisterhood she provided me with. I have three babies and wished she was there for my first two but nonetheless I was blessed to have her in my life for my third pregnancy. It didn’t even feel like a service, it felt like I was just hanging with my homegirl. The comfort, the professionalism, and the care she provided was top tier. I love you Jas and I hope you and your family are doing wonderful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ miss you lots.
