Virginia Department of Health Safety Seat Distribution and Education Program
The Safety Seat Program is a statewide child safety seat
distribution and education program offered free of charge to eligible families.
To qualify for a free child safety seat or booster, applicants must be:
- Eligible for WIC, Medicaid or FAMIS
- A resident of Virginia
- A custodial parent, legal guardian, or foster parent of a child who is seven years old or younger, or at least in the last trimester of pregnancy and whose child fits within the program’s safety seat manufacturer’s guidelines
- Attend a safety seat installation and use class in its entirety
- Sign a waiver of liability release form

Jas was nothing short of amazinggg! From our first meeting I knew I made the right decision by going with her. Jas is very informative, considerate, and patient. Heavy on the patient because my other children are pretty wild sometimes! The exercises and diet suggestions along with Jas’ reassurance made my labor process very smooth and QUICK (was only in active labor for 2 hours and 12 minutes). I went through a lot mentally postpartum but Jas continued to check in on me. I don’t plan to have more babies, but if I do… Jas will be my doula every time! <3

I could go on for days, I know I couldn’t have done it without her encouraging me and supporting me through my pregnancy journey and birth of my beautiful baby girl! Came across her FB in my people you may know and it brought back so many memories of a woman who genuinely cared. There are so many things I can say about this woman and the sisterhood she provided me with. I have three babies and wished she was there for my first two but nonetheless I was blessed to have her in my life for my third pregnancy. It didn’t even feel like a service, it felt like I was just hanging with my homegirl. The comfort, the professionalism, and the care she provided was top tier.
